De Vergaderfabriek is a 100 sqm building which will be established by CyBe Construction B.V. in collaboration with Revelating, The Form Foundation, and Witteveen&Bos, in the execution of Center4Moods.
The shape of this building is inspired by the nearby airport. The succession of open and close, with a circular space as the basis, has led to a building that is manifested as the blades of a turbine. The blades rotate and open these views or close them, depending on the position of the observer.
That has led to a design in which the curved walls, all unique and with a different shape, 3D printed in concrete. This results in a building that looks different from every angle. Such a shape can hardly be built by only using traditional building methods.
This project is established from the passion to facilitate individuals, teams, and groups by providing the perfect experience. The circular shape used materials and the technology inside will create a versatile sustainable and circular space. The ideal environment to achieve goals, get new insights and get inspired.
‘De Vergaderfabriek’ is an initiative from ‘De Slaapfabriek’ and Centre4moods. By 3D concrete printing this building there will be 40% less Co2 emissions and a waste reduction of 70% in comparison with traditional methods.
The printing time of all walls is 10 days and this building is the first commercially building realized by 3D concrete printing in Europe.
One building, endless possibilities. Because of the design of the building and the technology inside, it can be used for various purposes, which brings a lot of benefits as: broad application, flexibility, experience and digital construction. On the other side of the world, while being in Teuge. The production method 3D concrete printing is also versatile. Various applications as wall elements, bridges and street furniture can be printed with just one printer.
With traditional construction methods, a curved or creative design is often difficult to realize and therefore very expensive. When using 3D concrete printing there are many more possibilities in terms of design. Designs can be round, with edges etc. Furthermore, the design of the building will inspire and stimulate creativity in meetings.
3D Concrete Printing is much more eco-friendly than traditional ways of building, due to the reduction of CO2-emission and waste. On top of that, environmental costs of assembling, transportation, logistics and storing are completely absent when printing this building on site. Additionally, the building will be built out of reusable components from the installations inside as the Factory Zero unit to the walls – which could be crushed and used to print new elements, which makes it a circular building.
This building will be used for different purposes as meeting, training, and health in which experience is the key focus. Because of all the high technology inside – you can have a meeting at the bahaBahamasa volcano in Teuge – the production method of this building should also be digital. The benefit to create a free-form and iconic building with 3D concrete printing was the main reason to choose 3D concrete printing as the production method.
