Scoop: Dutch company provides first concrete printer worldwide to a precast concrete manufacturer in Japan
This week, employees of the precast concrete plants are trained and certified to become printer-operators.
Once back in Japan, they will first focus on the certification of the production method based on the JIS standards in Japan. This will be followed by the production of various applications such as benches, manholes, toilet units and buildings.
The Japanese have bought the printer to print parts of buildings and bridges like CyBe did in Dubai. With this mobile printer they are flexible to produce on the construction site, semi-precast as well as precast. For the material they will make use of the quick-drying concrete mortar of CyBe, specially developed for 3D concrete printing, which will be produced locally in Japan.
Through the experience gained, CyBe acts as a technology provider (leader) on 3D concrete printing where they primarily develop technology and perform a dozen of projects each year, such as in Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Milan, to further develop the technology. In addition, they sell printers as a total concept where partners are guided, certified and taken care of so that they can get started instantly with the printing of concrete with the advantages of faster, cheaper and more sustainable production.
