We recently wrapped up our training at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. After the two-week training period, all 10 trainees passed their exams and received their certificates. The new CyBe Certified Printer Operators are going to use our equipment for research.
Hong Kong Polytechnic University
The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, or PolyU for short, is one of the world’s top universities in multiple research disciplines. One area they focus their studies on is 3D concrete printing. The Research Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (RIAM) contributes to sustainable construction by researching additive manufacturing as an innovative construction method with benefits in sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and speed. The University opted for the CyBe RC back in 2022, using it to advance their research on 3D printing. At that time, we already trained a first batch of professors and researchers. Now, in 2023, they requested a second training course, this time for 10 more PolyU staff members. The new team of trainees consisted of five professors, three researchers, and two external maintenance professionals. This new team of experts will focus on lifting their 3DCP studies to an even higher level.
3DCP Research
All ten new trainees successfully completed our ten-day training program and are now CyBe Certified Printer Operators. This means they can now effectively continue the University’s studies on additive manufacturing. The new team of specialists will be applied to research the range and motion of the printer, as well as material development for 3D printing. With these new experts focusing on 3D concrete printing, the Polytechnic University is bound to propel additive manufacturing research to a new level. We believe this extensive research can bring us yet another step closer to a world where affordable and sustainable housing is attainable for all!
